Encountering Christ through WORD Children’s Liturgy of the Word: Scripture-based program for pre-K through third grade children during the Liturgy of the Word at 9:30 am Sunday Mass Nocturnal Adoration Society: monthly overnight Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament OCIA: for those interested in becoming Catholic, completing their Sacraments of Initiation, and/or learning more about the Catholic Faith That Man is You! (TMIY): weekly discussion of contemporary topics for men that leads to a closer relationship with Christ and one another Walking with Purpose (WWP): weekly Catholic Bible study to bring women to a closer relationship with Christ and one another Small Groups (Youth Faith Formation): small group discussion-based religious education for grades 1-6
Encountering Christ through LITURGY Altar Servers: youth and adults who assist the priest celebrant at the altar at Sunday Mass, sacraments, weddings, funerals, holydays, and special liturgies Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist: assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass; brings Holy Communion to the sick and homebound Hospitality Team (Greeters/Ushers): welcomes and assists parishioners and visitors upon arrival to church Readers (Lectors): proclaims readings from Scripture and offers the Prayer of the Faithful at Sunday Mass Prayer of the Faithful Team: meets quarterly to write the intercessory prayers for Sunday Mass Sacred Music: cantors, choral singers, and instrumentalists who lead the assembly in worship through music at Sunday Mass, holydays, funerals, weddings, sacraments, and special events Sacristans: assists with set up for daily and weekend liturgies, as well as funerals, weddings, sacraments, and special events in church
Encountering Christ through CHARITY Collection Counters: meet Monday mornings to count offerings from Sunday Masses Finance Council: advises and assists the Pastor in the responsible stewardship of the parish's financial resources Outreach: Christian service to the community and beyond through ongoing and seasonal collections, drives, days of service, etc. Respect Life: supports and promotes the dignity of every human life from conception to natural death through service, fundraising, resources, and witness
Encountering Christ through COMMUNITY Bereavement Ministry: supports the planning and day of tasks for the funeral process for grieving families Catholic Grandparents Association: offers support for grandparents in engaging their grand/children in the living out of the Catholic Faith CYO: seasonal youth intramural athletics program Holy Name Society: fellowship of men with emphasis on service, spirituality, and community Merry Widows: support and social group open to all widowed parishioners Moms' Group: provides opportunities for moms, children, and families to come together for social, spiritual, and service activities Women's Society: fellowship of women with emphasis on service, spirituality, and community All Abilities Foundation of Greater Philadelphia: partner organization which seeks to create an environment of acceptance, community, and fellowship for persons with disabilities and their families in and among the wider community
